How to Get in Touch Effectively

Every message that reaches the editorial desk is read. A little preparation helps us reply sooner and send your note to the right person. Below is a short guide to the kinds of messages we receive most often and what to include in each.

Pitches and contributions

We welcome ideas from writers, photographers and researchers who share our interest in music culture, past and present. A good pitch is short. Tell us what the story is, why it matters now, and why you are the person to tell it. Add one or two links to earlier work if you have them. For photo essays, a small selection of low-resolution images is enough to start a conversation. Please do not send finished manuscripts or large attachments in a first email. Our features section gives a good sense of the tone and length we usually run.

Music for review

Artists, labels and press officers are welcome to tell us about new releases. A streaming or download link with basic details works best: artist, title, label, release date and a few lines of context. We cannot promise coverage for every record we receive. We do listen with care, and we are especially interested in independent and lesser-known work. Past coverage is collected in our reviews.

Corrections and feedback

Accuracy matters to us. If you spot a factual error, a wrong credit or a misattributed photograph, please name the article and describe the issue clearly. We will look into it and update the piece where needed. General feedback, whether praise or criticism, is just as welcome. It helps shape what we cover next.

A few practical notes

• Please write in English or French. Both are read at the desk.
• Use a clear subject line, such as "Pitch", "Review submission" or "Correction".
• Allow some time for a reply, particularly during busy release periods.
• We are an independent magazine and do not sell tickets or handle bookings for artists or venues.
